DBS Group senior economist Chua Han Teng said in a report that the near future prospects for Singapore's non-oil domestic exports remain positive. He pointed out that the city-state's non-oil domestic export performance in the second quarter was strong, with a year-on-year increase of 27.4%, the strongest increase since the same period in 2010. Against the backdrop of strong investment from hyperscale cloud service providers driving strong demand for electronic products, favorable factors related to global artificial intelligence continue to support the growth of non-oil domestic exports. However, Chua warned that as renewed tension in the Middle East is delaying the resumption of raw material supply, petrochemical exports may continue to face resistance as it enters the third quarter.
