As of 18:45 on the same day, the fire had burned down about 180 hectares of woodland, evacuated about 160 residents, and damaged many houses. According to the Var provincial government, the fire broke out in the afternoon of the same day and spread rapidly thereafter. A total of about 285 local firefighters, fire fighting helicopters and other forces participated in the rescue. Affected by the fire, several roads were closed, and railway traffic between Toulon and Nice was suspended.
