Hunan Yuneng (301358.SZ) plans to invest 24 billion yuan to build a mineralized integrated new energy battery material recycling industry project

Zhitong Finance App News, Hunan Yuneng (301358.SZ) announced that the company plans to invest in the construction of the Guizhou Yuneng (Weng'an) mineralized integrated new energy battery material recycling industry project in Weng'an County, Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, and lay out lithium iron phosphate and upstream industry chain projects, including lithium iron phosphate, iron phosphate, phosphorus sources (phosphate mining, mineral processing, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid required for the production of phosphoric acid), iron sources (pyrite, etc.), lithium carbonate processing and lithium battery recycling.

The total investment of the project is about 24 billion yuan (based on actual investment in the end). The funding sources are own capital and self-financing. The company plans to invest 5 to 8 billion yuan within 18 months after construction of the project officially begins, and will adjust the implementation pace according to future market demand and other conditions. The planned construction period of the project is expected to be five years.

In addition to adding production capacity for lithium iron phosphate and the precursor iron phosphate, the company's investment project has corresponding arrangements for phosphorus sources, iron sources, and lithium sources. In terms of phosphorus sources, the company will rely on local resource advantages, lay out a complete industrial chain from phosphate mining and mineral processing to phosphorus chemicals, and guarantee the sulfuric acid required to produce phosphoric acid through pyrite acid production and phosphogypsum acid production. Among them, phosphogypsum acid can also achieve “solid waste disposal+resource regeneration”; in terms of iron sources, the company will improve iron source supply through pyrite and other methods; in terms of lithium sources, the company has now laid out lithium carbonate processing and lithium battery recycling production capacity. Through the above integrated layout arrangement, the company can help ensure the safety of upstream material supply, hedge against the risk of fluctuations in raw material prices, form resource and cost barriers that are difficult to replicate, and consolidate its position in the industry.
