Six departments including the Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly issued the “15th Five-Year Plan” for the Protection of Soil, Groundwater, and Agricultural and Rural Ecological Environment. The plan lays out five tasks, including strengthening risk management and control of construction land, strengthening ecological environment protection for agricultural land, deepening collaborative prevention and control of groundwater pollution, promoting the construction of beautiful villages, and improving the effectiveness of management. The plan arranged major projects such as a soil pollution source prevention and control project, a special soil pollution control project for a 1-kilometer chemical vacated plot along the river, and special tasks such as carrying out the second national survey of soil pollution conditions and a national groundwater pollution survey and evaluation.
