The National Health Insurance Administration actively guides all regions to continuously optimize maternity insurance system policies, strengthen maternity medical expenses coverage, and promote “no out-of-pocket payments” for individuals who give birth in hospitals within the scope of maternity insurance policies. As of July 10, 28 provinces and 278 co-ordinated regions adapted to local conditions and promoted implementation of hierarchical classification, and individual “no out-of-pocket payment” for medical expenses incurred by insured female workers who were hospitalized and delivered in accordance with the medical insurance catalogue, fixation, and payment regulations.
