It said it is closely consulting with relevant departments, including the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Bank of Korea, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Financial Services Commission, and will announce measures to protect investors and stabilize the market. When asked if he is also considering temporarily suspending Samsung Electronics' leveraged ETF trading, he said, “We are conducting a full review because if we do, there may be even greater side effects.” When asked if he thought leveraged ETFs increased stock market volatility, he avoided answering directly and instead said, “It's a matter of degree.”
