Air China (00753) passenger turnover fell 2.9% year on year in June

According to the Zhitong Finance App, Air China (00753) announced that in June 2026, the combined passenger capacity investment (in kilometers of available seats) and passenger turnover (in kilometers of revenue) of the company and its subsidiaries (groups) declined year-on-year. Passenger capacity investment decreased by 6.1% year on year, and passenger turnover decreased by 2.9% year on year. Among them, domestic passenger capacity investment decreased 7.7% year on year, passenger turnover decreased 6.7% year on year; international passenger capacity investment decreased 1.6% year on year, passenger turnover increased 7.4% year on year; regional passenger capacity investment decreased 16.4% year on year, and passenger turnover decreased 11.5% year on year. The average occupancy rate was 83.9%, up 2.8 percentage points from the previous year. Among them, domestic routes increased 0.9 percentage points year over year, international routes increased 7.0 percentage points year over year, and regional routes increased 4.4 percentage points year over year.

On the freight side, freight capacity investment (in terms of usable freight tonnes and kilometers) decreased by 6.3% year on year, and cargo and mail turnover (in terms of freight tonnes per kilometer of revenue) decreased 1.6% year on year. The freight rate was 48.0%, an increase of 2.3 percentage points over the previous year.

Starting June 5, 2026, the company will launch a new Wenzhou - Jeju route (two flights per week). Since June 15, the company has launched a new Chengdu Tianfu-Yan'an route (four flights per week).

In June 2026, the Group introduced a total of 1 A320 series aircraft, 1 B737 series aircraft, and withdrew 1 A320 series aircraft. By the end of June 2026, the Group had operated a total of 972 aircraft, including 427 owned aircraft, 260 leased by finance, and 285 leased.
