The General Administration of Market Regulation issued the “Notice on Adjusting the Certification Model for Some Products in the Compulsory Product Certification Catalogue”, making important adjustments to the certification model for some products in the mandatory product certification catalogue. The “Notice” makes it clear that for 16 types of products involving the personal health and safety of the public, such as power tools and automobile safety parts, the CCC certification model was adjusted from the previous corporate self-declaration to a third-party certification evaluation method. The “Notice” requires that from January 1, 2027, related products should obtain a CCC certification certificate and affix the CCC mark before they can be shipped, sold, imported or used in other business activities. From July 1, 2026, designated certification bodies will begin accepting CCC certification requests for related products. The “Notice” clearly states that designated certification bodies actively accept self-declared evaluation results on the basis of ensuring certification quality and controllable risks to facilitate enterprises to exchange CCC certification certificates. Products that have left the factory and are no longer produced within the self-declared period can continue to be sold without conversion.
