In the first 11 months of 2025, Hunan imported 12.29 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products to South Korea, an increase of 25.2% over the previous year, accounting for 58% of total trade between North Korea and South Korea during the same period. In terms of imports, demand for electronic components, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, medical instruments and devices from South Korea was strong. The import value increased by 42.7%, 66.6%, and 72%, respectively, to fill the development needs of high-end manufacturing and healthcare in the province. Looking at exports, the international competitiveness of Hunan's superior mechanical and electrical products continued to improve, and exports to South Korea of household appliances, packaging machinery, automatic data processing equipment, etc. were impressive, with export values surging 107%, 181.2%, and 560.2%, respectively.
