German Private Sector Expansion Slows in December 2025, Final Data Shows

04:08 AM EST, 01/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's private sector economy expanded at a slower rate in December 2025 amid a "solid and accelerated" drop in manufacturing new orders. The final HCOB Germany Composite PMI Output Index ticked down to a four-month low of 51.3 from 52.4 in November 2025, Hamburg Commercial Bank and S&P Global said Tuesday. The final reading was below the flash estimate of 51.5. For the service sector, the final PMI clocked in at a three-month low of 52.7, compared with the initial estimate of 52.6 and the previous month's 53.1.
