Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Sun Lei, China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, pointed out that the United States, as a permanent member of the Security Council, has ignored the serious concerns of the international community, wantonly trampled on Venezuela's sovereignty, security and legitimate rights and interests, seriously violated the principle of sovereign equality, the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, the principle of peaceful settlement of international disputes, and seriously violated the principle of not using force in international relations. These principles are fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and form the foundation for maintaining international peace and security.
