05:04 AM EST, 01/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lakestreet Capital Partners on Monday called for the removal of Palace Capital (PCA.L) Chairman Steven Owen, citing "lost faith" in Owen and remuneration concerns. Lakestreet requisitioned a general meeting of the UK-based property investment company, demanding Owen's replacement and the appointment of the private equity firm's own founders as board directors. The firm said it is "deeply troubled" by the excessive compensation the chairman receives, leading to "value destruction" for shareholders. The private equity firm also noted the "wholly unacceptable" cost of Palace Capital's two-person board, which equates to 22.75% of the net property income generated by the company's remaining two properties in Newcastle and Northampton. Lakestreet is the company's top shareholder with a total stake of 22.53%.
