The Philippine Criminal Investigation and Investigation Team issued a statement on social media on the 5th saying that retired Air Force general Romeo Pokis was arrested on the same day at Ninoy Aquino Airport in the Philippine capital Manila on suspicion of “inciting rebellion.” The statement said that Pokis arrived at the airport from overseas that morning and the police arrested him in accordance with an arrest warrant issued by the Quezon City Court on December 5, 2025. The arrest warrant charged Pokis with allegedly violating the relevant provisions of section 142 of the Revised Penal Code relating to “incitement to rebellion.”
