11:37 PM EST, 01/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Indra Sistemas' (IDR.MC) majority-owned government satellite services operator, Hisdesat Servicios Estratégicos, implemented a contingency plan after a space particle impact during orbital transfer of the SpainSat NG II satellite. In a Jan. 2 release, the Spanish information technology and defense systems group noted that the plan was designed to ensure the continuation of Hisdesat's services to its clients, including Spain's Ministry of Defence. Hisdesat assured that the incident did not affect its operational capabilities, adding that the satellite will be replaced as soon as possible if technical teams find damage to critical areas.
