The reporter learned from the General Administration of Market Regulation on January 4 that the General Administration of Market Supervision, together with relevant departments, recently revised and issued the “Administrative Measures on Green Product Certification and Labeling”. This marks the transformation of China's green product certification and labeling system from single label management to supervision of the entire certification chain. According to the introduction, the method is based on the principle of “unifying product catalogues, unifying evaluation standards, unifying certification rules, and unifying product identification”, focusing on supervision of the entire process of green product certification activities, clarifying the system's hierarchical classification management ideas, and clearly defining the application scenarios for all certification and sub-certification of green products. At the same time, the regulations make detailed provisions on certification implementation, certificate management, logo use, and supervisory responsibilities, etc., clarify the main responsibilities of all parties involved, and provide clear guidelines for related work. According to statistics, up to now, the green product certification catalogue covers 122 types of products closely related to consumers, including electronic appliances, furniture, building materials, express packaging, textiles, etc., with nearly 40,000 valid certification certificates, involving more than 8,000 certified companies.
