The main union of Capstone Copper Corp.'s main union at a mine in northern Chile began a strike on Friday as union members demanded more of the “windfall” brought about by record metal prices. More than 600 workers at Chile's Mantoverde mine have stopped working after collective bargaining failed to reach an agreement with management. The union said it has sufficient resources to maintain the strike for at least two months, which could result in a loss of more than US$160 million in cash flow.
