A two-vehicle collision occurred in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa on December 31, killing at least 9 people and injuring 8 others. At around 10 a.m. local time on the same day, a minibus carrying 16 people collided head-on with a minibus carrying 4 people on the road from Ngezobo to Kofimfaba in the Eastern Cape. The minibus was severely damaged, and all 4 people on board died. Five people aboard the minibus died instantly, and 8 others were injured.
