The research group of Renmin University of China released the “Chengdu and Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Zone Collaborative Development Index Report” today, which systematically assessed the collaborative development status of the Chengdu and Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circles from 2018 to 2024. The report comprehensively analyzes the collaborative process of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration with Chongqing and Chengdu as the core through six first-level indicators of macroeconomics, collaborative innovation, infrastructure collaboration, trade finance, urban-rural integration, and industrial development. Among them, collaborative innovation showed the most outstanding performance. The rapid growth of the Collaborative Innovation Index is mainly due to the strengthening of innovation output and innovation networks. The Chengdu and Chongqing region has promoted regional knowledge flow and technology transformation by jointly building science and technology corridors and strengthening industry-university-research cooperation. The research group suggested that in the future, it is necessary to further optimize the allocation of innovation elements, build the “Chengdu-Chongqing Mian Science and Technology Innovation Golden Triangle”, and improve the innovation cooperation network driven by dual core and multi-level linkage.
