Participants also included the Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Consultative Assembly, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and the Consultative Assembly, members of the Consultative and Reconciliation Commission, a number of ministers and heads of military and police agencies who are members of the National Defense Council. The Governor of Hadramaut also attended the meeting. The meeting heard relevant reports on the latest situation in the eastern provinces of Yemen. The meeting pointed out that recent military operations by the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen in Hadramaut and Mahala provinces have been accompanied by serious violations against civilians. The meeting also mentioned that the attacks that occurred in the past few hours in the Nahb Valley in Hadramaut province are thought to be a blatant violation of the mediation efforts being promoted by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
