On December 26, France's Alstom announced that it has signed a contract with the Mexican Railway Transport Supervisory Authority to supply 47 DMU passenger trains, including 33 long-distance trains and 14 short-haul trains. Some trains are planned to be used on the Mexico City-Queretaro-Irapuato and Saltillo-Monterey-Nuevo Laredo routes.
