The Ministry of Transport issued an acceptance opinion on the “integrated development of transportation and tourism” pilot project for the construction of a strong transportation country in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region: the contents of the “integrated transportation and tourism development” pilot task have been completed, the expected goals of the pilot have been achieved, and it was agreed in principle to pass the inspection. Through the implementation of the pilot mission, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has built a “one axis and five corridors” as the main framework for tourist traffic along the Yellow River, built a number of scenic routes with tourist traffic characteristics, and built an “interconnected, fully connected” air transport network. Transportation and tourism infrastructure and service levels have improved markedly. The development of various integrated travel products and the initial formation of an integrated travel financing model in collaboration between the government and social capital have laid the foundation for the construction of a sustainable integrated travel development system. The pilot results have certain innovative, leading and demonstration promotion value. They have formed a number of typical experiences and innovative achievements that can be replicated and promoted in the construction of tourist attractions, development of tourism resources along roads, improvement of road tourism service levels, and financing of integrated travel projects, etc., and have certain reference significance for integrated travel development.
