The Zhitong Finance App learned that Omdia's “LED Video Display Market Tracking Report for the Third Quarter of 2025” indicates that in the third quarter of 2025, global LED video display product shipments increased 8.3% year on year, and revenue increased 6.9% year on year. Despite double-digit declines in Eastern Europe and North America, the overall market continued to grow steadily, driven by strong performance in the Middle East and Africa, Asia and Oceania, and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Liu Huilian, senior analyst at Omdia, said, “In the third quarter of 2025, the global LED video display market maintained a positive momentum supported by regional diversification and technological innovation. Key technological breakthroughs in manufacturing processes and AI-driven enhancements are bringing stronger performance and higher efficiency to LED video display products.”

Micro-LED Innovation and AI Empowering Efficiency Improvement

Advances in mini-LED and micro-LED production technology are reshaping the market landscape, particularly in the development of chip-on-board (COB) and micro LED in package (MIP) convergence technology. The latest product uses a substrate-free package to reduce the LED chip size to 0.2 mm x 0.2 mm, simplifying the process, reducing costs while improving consistency and reliability. As chip specifications continue to evolve to be more refined, the introduction of new MIP and COB processes is shortening production cycles, improving reliability, and further improving image quality performance.

At the same time, AI is helping to achieve higher image quality and lower power consumption. In the context of strict implementation of green and sustainable development requirements in major markets such as China and Western Europe, brands are using AI technology to improve energy efficiency performance. For example, by pre-processing content, “Power-Critical Areas (Power-Critical)” are identified, and brightness is automatically adjusted to ensure stable system operation.

These technological innovations are driving the growing demand for LED displays in diverse application scenarios, including immersive cultural displays in public spaces, AI-driven digital signage in retail scenarios, and immersive displays with a larger perspective for sports and e-sports. At the same time, smart city command centers and data centers are also speeding up the adoption of high-resolution real-time monitoring and display solutions, while the use of LED all-in-one displays in the hybrid office and education sector continues to increase.

Regional market analysis: Emerging markets are showing outstanding performance

Omdia's research shows that the regional market landscape is undergoing significant changes in 2025:

Asia Pacific (excluding China): In the third quarter of 2025, the region continued to maintain its leading position in the world, with a shipment share of 17.2% and a revenue share of 16.1%. Driven by manufacturing capacity advantages and smart infrastructure-related policy support, shipments increased 35.9% year over year, and revenue increased 39.8% year over year. India, Indonesia, and Vietnam became major growth engines.

Middle East and Africa: The region became a key growth driver, and its share of shipments rose to 6.8%, a record high since 2021. Brands such as Daktronics, Absen (Absen), and Unilumin (Unilumin) are benefiting from increased demand driven by infrastructure construction, digital transportation, and stadium investments.

China: The share of market shipments fell to its lowest level since 2021. Shipments increased 2.3% year over year, but revenue fell 7.1% year over year. Demand for outdoor displays in retail and transportation is under pressure due to operating cost limitations, and demand is shifting to the smaller pixel pitch and ultra-high-definition displays required for control rooms and enterprise vertical industries.

North America: In the context of recent tariff adjustments, the market has shown strong resilience, thanks to adaptations in the global supply chain. Samsung, AOTO, Unilumin (Unilumin), and SiliconCore achieved year-over-year growth driven by high-value segments such as small-pitch display and virtual production. In response to tariff issues, the brand is expanding production lines outside of China, including the US and Mexico.

Latin America and the Caribbean: Omdia anticipates that the continued expansion of manufacturing lines outside of China will further support market development in the region.
