Japan's Minister of Trade Akazawa Ryomasa said that Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry requested the issuance of 1.78 trillion yen of special bonds in fiscal year 2026 to help Japan's trade insurance institutions support Japanese investment in the US as part of the trade agreement between the two countries. Akazawa told reporters that a special bond of up to 3 trillion yen will be issued to support NEXI, and has also applied for 12.2 billion yen to support research and development of smaller companies. Akazawa said both requests have been approved by the Minister of Finance.
