On December 23, the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court handed down a public verdict in the case of Gao XX, the first batch of Chinese plant managers, former chairman of the board of directors of China Zhi Enterprise Group Co., Ltd., and others to be charged with illegally absorbing public deposits. Defendant Gao and others were sentenced to 14 years to 4 years and 6 months in prison and fines for illegally absorbing public deposits. After a trial, the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court found that defendant Gao XX and others, as supervisors directly responsible and other persons directly responsible for China Zhi Enterprise Group Co., Ltd., violated the provisions of national financial management laws, absorbed public deposits in disguise, and disrupted the financial order. All of their acts constituted the crime of illegally absorbing public deposits. The court handed down the above judgment according to law based on the facts, nature, circumstances and degree of harm to society of each defendant's crime. The defendant's family, some fund-raising participants, and people from all walks of life attended the verdict. After the incident occurred, the public security authorities made every effort to recover the assets involved in the case. Currently, work is still ongoing to track down stolen goods and damage.
