On December 18, the State Drug Administration held a brain-computer interface medical device work promotion conference in Beijing. The conference heard opinions and suggestions from relevant experts, scholars and representatives of R&D enterprises from institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutes, and medical institutions. Lei Ping, member of the party group and deputy director of the State Drug Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The conference called for thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, deeply understanding the importance of brain-computer interfaces as the strategic importance of forward-looking layout of future industries; adhering to safety and effectiveness as the primary premise, innovating review and supervision methods, establishing a standard system, and strengthening technical guidance services; strengthening cross-departmental cooperation and joining forces with industry, academia, research and medical parties to work together to solve key technical problems and improve the supply chain of the industrial chain; and implement corporate principal responsibilities to be problem-oriented, enhance product reliability and overall competitiveness, and actively promote brain-computer interfaces to serve patients faster and better.
