Germany's BASF to Sell Optical Brightening Agent Business

10:13 AM EST, 12/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BASF (BAS.F) agreed to sell its optical brightening agent business to International Chemical Investors Group's Catexel for an undisclosed sum, according to a Tuesday release. The business is part of the German company's care chemicals division and comprises the international business, including the production of optical brightening agents at the Monthey site in Switzerland, with 80 employees. Deal closing is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
