Flash PMI: French Private Sector Output Growth Slows in December

03:29 AM EST, 12/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- France's private sector economy was broadly stable in December as manufacturing output neared stabilization, while service sector business activity increased marginally, data from S&P Global and Hamburg Commercial Bank showed Tuesday. The HCOB Flash France Composite PMI Output Index hit a two-month low of 50.1 in December, against the prior reading of 50.4. For the manufacturing sector, the PMI was at a 40-month high of 50.6, compared with the November figure of 47.8 and consensus estimate of 48. On the other hand, the services PMI clocked in at a two-month low of 50.2, versus the previous 51.4 and market forecast of 51.2.
