11:17 PM EST, 12/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Moody's on Monday upgraded the long-term deposit ratings of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA.MC, BVA.L), or BBVA, to A1 from A2, with a stable outlook. The rating agency said the upgrade formally wraps up its rating review on the Spanish lender and reflects expectations that the bank's existing loss-absorbing cushion will protect it from liabilities over the medium term. The stable outlook reflects Moody's assessment that the current rating will cover the bank's financial performance over the next 12 to 18 months.
