10:05 AM EST, 12/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Volkswagen (VOW.F) will stop vehicle production at its facility in Dresden, Germany, after Tuesday, according to media reports on Sunday. The closure, which marks the German carmaker's first closure in its 88-year history, aligns with the company's plan to reduce capacity in the country and is part of a 2024 agreement with unions. The facility will continue to be used for car deliveries and as a tourist attraction, while being rented out to the Technical University of Dresden.
