According to the Zhitong Finance App, Haichang Ocean Park (02255) issued an announcement that the Beijing Haichang Ocean Park project (Beijing project) has fully entered the construction stage. Currently, several foundation construction equipment is in operation. The construction will involve the installation of the thickest acrylic windows in China, anti-seeping work for oversized pools, and integrated installation of various special marine systems; preparations for operation are progressing steadily, and work on performing arts products and exhibition design is also being deepened.
The Beijing project is located in the northern industrial belt of Beijing's urban sub-center cultural tourism area. It is close to Beijing Universal Studios Resort and Gaoloujin Station of Beijing Metro Line 7. It enjoys the agglomeration effect of the Beijing Surrounding Area and realizes “entering the park as soon as you leave the subway”. The total construction area of the Beijing project is about 160,000 square meters. The construction includes a hotel, an oceanarium and supporting facilities. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2027. The Beijing project is a fifth-generation oceanarium integrating ecology, science, research, interaction, performance, art, theme hotels, etc. The Beijing project has a number of main exhibits, distributed in 8 major themed zones, and can carry out various forms of interactive performances, water curtain performances, music and dance activities, etc.
The Beijing project was developed by the Group in cooperation with Beijing Tongzhou Urban Construction and Operation Group (partner). The construction party is Beijing Tongzhou Whale & Hang Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the partner, and the general contractor for the construction of the project is China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., which exports the brand, provides product planning and design, and biological input. After the completion of the Beijing project, the group is responsible for overall operation and management.
At present, all construction of the Beijing project is progressing smoothly. The Group has invested more than 20 years of experience and technical reserves in the field of marine theme parks, and professional and technical personnel in various fields. Together with partners, they are making every effort to advance according to the plan to ensure that the work plan for all stages of the Beijing project is completed as scheduled.
As a key project at the Beijing level, the Beijing project is included in the core cultural tourism project plan of Beijing's urban sub-center and enjoys regional cultural tourism development policy preferences. As the sub-center's first international marine cultural tourism project, it will receive support from official resources to promote construction and operation.
The board of directors believes that the Beijing project is one of the key projects in the Group's cultural tourism service and solution business. As the first large-scale indoor marine theme park to be built in Beijing after 2000, it has filled the gap in Beijing's high-end marine cultural tourism industry and met the needs of families, children, and research customers in the region. After completion, the Beijing project will form complementary content and drainage effects with Universal Beijing Resort, form a regional link with the apex park project and sports center project invested and built by regional partners, form complementary business formats with the Wanli commercial complex, and strive to become a new important tourist destination in Beijing's urban sub-center cultural tourism area, adding new scenarios to Beijing's cultural tourism economy and driving new consumption.
