Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 11th strongly condemning the so-called “final investment decision” of the British Rock Hopper Exploration Company and Navitas Petroleum Co., Ltd., headquartered in Israel. The decision is aimed at developing the Sea Lion oil field located in the waters of the Malvinas Islands. At the end of 2021, Navitas Petroleum Co., Ltd. and Rock Hopper Exploration reached an agreement to obtain about 65% of the shares in the Haishi Oilfield project, and officially became the oilfield operator in 2022.
