We learned from the Weinan Intermediate People's Court of Shaanxi Province that on the 12th, the Weinan Intermediate People's Court of Shaanxi Province handed down a public verdict in the first instance in the case of intentional homicide of defendant Li Mouchun in accordance with the law, and sentenced defendant Li Mouchun to death, suspended execution for two years, depriving him of his political rights for life. After trial, it was discovered that defendant Li Mouchun and victim Wu Muli were husband and wife and operated a noodle restaurant in Baishui County, Shaanxi. Since June 2024, the two have had conflicts due to Wu Muli's improper online dating behavior. On September 4 of the same year, Li Mouchun had another dispute with Wu Muli at a noodle restaurant after drinking. Li Mouchun assaulted Wu Muli and poured room temperature noodle soup on Wu Muli, which eventually led to her death. It was later determined by forensic medicine that Wu Muli died of suffocation due to inhalation of noodle soup through her respiratory tract. The Weinan Intermediate People's Court held that defendant Li Mouchun deliberately and unlawfully took another person's life due to marital and family disputes, and that his actions had already constituted the crime of intentional homicide. Since Li Mouchun surrendered voluntarily, the victim Wu Muli was responsible for the occurrence of this case, and Li Mouchun obtained the understanding of the victim's family, so the punishment was mitigated.
