Trella Uptown, a 353-unit complex at Eighth and North Tryon streets, will start accepting tenants after the first of the year. The $110 million community is being developed by Inlivian and Urban Atlantic. It has one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Of the total units, 106 are designated as affordable and priced for individuals or families earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income.

The Charlotte Business Journal reports that market-rate rent starts at $1,500 for one-bedroom apartments, $2,425 for two-bedroom units, and $3,565 for three-bedroom units. Amenities include a clubroom and community space, a podcast studio, a pet spa, a fitness center, an outdoor terrace, a pool, sports courts, and rooftop access.

Inlivian and Urban Atlantic began work on the project in fall 2022 with the demolition of the former Charlotte Hall House. Construction on Trella began in March 2023.

The joint venture secured $83.95 million for the mixed-income development.
