On December 9, 2025, the Foreign Ministry's special envoy for Horn of Africa affairs, Hu Changchun visited Egypt and met separately with Assistant Foreign Minister Judd and Sharif. Minister Zhang Yaqiang of the Egyptian Embassy attended the meeting. Hu Changchun said that China attaches great importance to developing Sino-Egyptian relations and is willing to work with Egypt to fully implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, expand cooperation in various fields within the framework of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, China, Africa, and the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum, push forward the continuous development of bilateral relations, and work together to promote stability and prosperity in the Horn of Africa and the African region. The Egyptian side highly appreciates bilateral relations and is willing to cooperate fully with China to jointly implement the consensus of the two heads of state, comprehensively deepen friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides, continue to strengthen communication and coordination in regional and international affairs, and play a greater role in promoting peace and stability in Africa.
