Mars Inc.'s Purchase of Kellanova Gets EU Unconditional Nod

11:30 AM EST, 12/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission unconditionally approved Mars Inc.'s acquisition of Kellanova after its in-depth investigation concluded that the deal does not raise competition concerns in the European Economic Area. The commission said Monday it found that the companies already hold a degree of market power across several product markets in multiple member states. It also determined that the deal would not increase Mars' bargaining power with retailers based on the evidence. In June, the commission opened its in-depth investigation into the $35.9 billion deal.
