According to a joint letter, six European countries sent a letter to the European Commission calling for an easing of the internal combustion engine vehicle sales ban originally scheduled to take effect in 2035 before the new automobile policy package to be announced next week. These countries require the EU to allow continued sales of hybrid cars or vehicles driven by other existing and future technologies after 2035, provided that these technologies “help meet emission reduction targets.”
