Congolese President Tshisekedi and Rwandan President Kagame formally signed a peace agreement on the 4th in the US capital Washington to end the 30-year conflict. The agreement was reached through the mediation of the United States, Qatar and other parties. US President Trump said in a speech before the agreement was signed that the US will also sign bilateral agreements with the Congo and Rwanda on the same day, “opening up new opportunities for the US to obtain key minerals.”
