On December 3, the 2025 Top 500 Unicorn Enterprises Conference was held in Laoshan District. The conference was hosted by the China Private Enterprise Research Center of Renmin University of China and the Qingdao Federation of Enterprises. According to the “2025 Global Top 500 Unicorn Enterprises Report” released at the conference, the top seven cities in the total number of unicorn enterprises in China in 2025 were Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Suzhou, and Qingdao. Up to now, Qingdao has cultivated a total of 19 unicorn companies, of which Qingyuan Crops and Haier New Energy are new unicorn companies. Qingdao Unicorn enterprises cover the four core tracks of the industrial Internet, new energy, artificial intelligence, and life and health, and maintain the second leading position in northern China as a whole.
