To address labor shortages and improve operational efficiency, Japan's Narita Airport is testing a new project — a cat-shaped robot with a “long” tail to sell snacks. According to a report by Japan's Kyodo News Agency on the 4th, the store supervised by a cat-shaped robot is located in the domestic boarding area of Terminal 3. The store sells 12 popular snacks. After the customer enters the store, they first need to select and pay for the goods on the touch screen. Afterwards, the robot will use the suction cup device at the tail to pick up the goods and then deliver them to the pickup area. This project is being carried out by Narita Airport in collaboration with the Nomura Research Institute, and is expected to be put into trial operation until December 15.
