Citigroup is moving towards a potentially transformative technology that has so far been difficult for many companies to implement. However, Citi said it is taking steps to achieve this goal. Citigroup Chief Technology Officer David Griffiths said that starting this month, Citi will test new “smart” features within its proprietary AI platform, which it has been developing for the past two years. Griffiths said that with this new update, users will be able to command an AI tool to complete multiple tasks and access multiple company systems through a single prompt. He said, “A few years ago, you could use an earlier version of the model that was available at the time to operate an intelligent body. But they aren't always reliable, and aren't always good at calling tools. But now they can do it.” Griffith said Citi's internal platform uses a range of models, including Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude. With the new functionality, users can direct a tool called Citi Stylus Workspaces within the platform to complete multiple tasks in one step, from researching specific customers, creating files for them using public data and multiple internal data sets, to translating them into foreign languages.
