On September 18, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited announced that, starting from September 19, 2025, the Hong Kong dollar best interest rate will be reduced by 12.5 basis points, from 5.25% to 5.125% per annum. Meanwhile, the annual interest rate for HKD savings accounts was reduced by 12.5 basis points; the annual interest rate for US dollar savings accounts was reduced from 0.375% to 0.25%.
