At the 2025 Global Energy Internet Conference held today, Zhang Zhigang, chairman of the State Grid Corporation, said in his keynote speech that China State Grid Corporation is guided by the new “four revolutions, one cooperation” energy security strategy, earnestly implements the Chinese government's deployment, accelerates the construction of a new power system, promotes the upgrading of power grids to the energy internet, and promotes clean and low-carbon energy transformation. Zhang Zhigang mentioned that the State Grid is speeding up grid interconnection, promoting the energy supply revolution, increasing factor investment, and promoting the construction of power grids at all levels. A total of 41 UHV AC/DC projects have been built to speed up the construction of pumped energy storage, enhance the regulation capacity of the system, and fully serve the high-quality development of new energy sources. Over the past 10 years, the transmission capacity across provinces and regions has increased 2.3 times, exceeding 350 gigawatts. The installed capacity of the National Grid under construction has increased 1.6 times, exceeding 94 gigawatts. The installed capacity of Fengguang New Energy in the operating area increased 9 times, reaching 1,355 gigawatts, accounting for nearly 50%. New energy sources have become the largest power source, new installed capacity, and the main source of additional power generation.
