China Automobile Dealers Association: National commercial vehicle export sales increased 28.72% year-on-year in July, export value exceeded 20 billion yuan

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to data from the Commercial Vehicle Professional Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association, retail sales of new commercial vehicles were 1.7672 million units from January to July 2025, a cumulative increase of 6.47% over the previous year. Of these, sales volume in July was 249,400 units, up 12.24% year on year and down 3.78% month on month.

In terms of exports, from January to July 2025, the export sales volume of commercial vehicles was 621,000 units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 25.87%. Among them, export sales volume in July was 94,300 vehicles, up 28.72% year on year and 2.08% month on month. The monthly export volume reached 20.625 billion yuan.

I. Retail sales volume in July 2025

According to sales data provided by the Commercial Vehicle Professional Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association, retail sales of commercial vehicles nationwide in July 2025 were 249,400 units, up 12.24% year on year and 3.78% month on month.

The top 5 companies account for 37.24% of retail sales, followed by Foton Motor, SAIC Wuling, FAW Jiefang, Jiangling Motors, and Sinotruk Howo.

Looking at the different models, the details are as follows:

Trucks: Retail sales in July were 203,800 units, up 12.33% year on year and down 4.93% month on month. The top 5 companies account for 39.55% of retail sales, followed by Foton Motor, SAIC Wuling, FAW Jiefang, Sinotruk Howo, and JAC.

Buses: Retail sales in July were 45,500 units, up 11.85% year on year and 1.71% month on month. The top 5 companies accounted for 52.09% of retail sales, followed by JMC, SAIC Chase, Geely, SAIC Wuling, and Foton.

II. Cumulative retail sales volume from January to July 2025

In January-July, the cumulative retail sales volume of commercial vehicles nationwide was 1.7672 million units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 6.47%.

The top 5 companies account for 37.84% of retail sales, followed by Foton Motor, SAIC Wuling, FAW Jiefang, Sinotruk Howo, and Jiangling.

Trucks: Retail sales in January-July were 1.497 million units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 7.65%. The top 5 companies account for 39.75% of retail sales, followed by Foton Motor, SAIC Wuling, FAW Jiefang, Sinotruk Howo, and Great Wall Motors.

Buses: Retail sales in January-July were 276,400 units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 0.50%. The top 5 companies account for 51.87% of retail sales, followed by JMC, SAIC Chase, SAIC Wuling, Geely Remote, and Foton.

III. Export sales volume in July 2025

According to sales data provided by the Commercial Vehicle Professional Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association, in July 2025, the national commercial vehicle export sales volume was 94,300 units, up 28.72% year on year, up 2.08% month on month; exports reached 20.625 billion yuan in the same month.

The top 5 export sources are Shandong, Chongqing, Beijing, Hebei and Shanghai; the top 5 export markets are Vietnam, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Nigeria.

Looking at the different models, the details are as follows:

Trucks: The export sales volume in July was 84,300 units, up 27.35% year on year, up 2.57% month on month, and the export value reached 16.226 billion yuan.

Buses: The export sales volume in July was 10,000 units, up 41.46% year on year, down 1.80% month on month, and the export value reached 4.399 billion yuan.

4. Cumulative export sales volume from January to July 2025

In January-July, the cumulative export sales volume of commercial vehicles nationwide was 621,000 units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 25.87%; the cumulative export value reached 13.618 billion yuan.

The top 5 export sources are Shandong, Chongqing, Beijing, Anhui, and Henan; the top 5 export markets are Mexico, Vietnam, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Chile.

Looking at the different models, the details are as follows:

Trucks: The export sales volume in January-July was 558,700 units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 25.27%, and the cumulative export value reached 102,348 billion yuan.

Buses: The export sales volume in January-July was 61,400 vehicles, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 31.58%, and the cumulative export value reached 28.269 billion yuan.
