China Telecom (601728.SH) released semi-annual results, with net profit of 23.017 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5% over the previous year

During the reporting period, the company achieved revenue of 269.422 billion yuan, up 1.3% year on year; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 23.017 billion yuan, up 5.5% year on year; after deducting non-net profit of 21.721 billion yuan, up 0.2% year on year; basic earnings per share were 0.25 yuan. The company plans to pay a dividend of RMB 0.1812 per share (tax included) to all shareholders.

In the first half of 2025, the communications industry was generally running smoothly. Telecom business revenue continued to grow. Telecom business revenue reached 905.5 billion yuan, an increase of 1% over the previous year; new infrastructure construction progressed in an orderly manner, with a total number of 5G base stations reaching 4,549 million, the number of Internet broadband access ports reaching 1,234 billion, and the total length of optical cable lines reached 73.77 million kilometers; the total number of mobile phone users reached 1.81 billion, 5G users reached 1,118 million, and the total number of fixed broadband access users reached 684 million; mobile Internet access traffic continued to grow rapidly, with cumulative mobile Internet traffic reaching 186.7 billion GB.

In the first half of 2025, the company's revenue was RMB 269.4 billion, up 1.3% year on year, of which service revenue was RMB 249.1 billion, up 1.2% year on year. The company's mobile communication service revenue continued to grow well, reaching RMB 106.6 billion, up 1.3% year on year. The 5G network user penetration rate increased by 6.1 p.p. compared to the end of last year. The ARPU for mobile users reached RMB 46.0; revenue from fixed network and smart home services reached RMB 64.1 billion, an increase of 0.2% over the previous year; and the comprehensive broadband ARPU reached RMB 48.3; industrial digitalization maintained a good development trend, with revenue reaching RMB 74.9 billion.
