According to the Zhitong Finance App, Yuewen Group (00772) announced interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2025. The group obtained revenue of RMB 3.191 billion (same unit); profit attributable to the company's equity holders was RMB 850 million, an increase of 68.5% over the previous year; and basic profit per share was 0.84 yuan.

According to the announcement, the Group's online reading content ecosystem continues to prosper. In the first half of 2025, about 200,000 writers and 410,000 novels were added to the online reading platform, adding about 20 billion words. High-quality works by writers continued to emerge. In the first half of the year, the number of newly signed works that earned more than RMB 1 million increased 63% year over year, and the number of newly signed writers with an average subscription of over 10,000 yuan increased 45% year over year. The vibrant content ecosystem has boosted the activity of the user community. In the first half of the year, the number of works receiving more than 10,000 monthly passes increased 20% year over year, and the number of works receiving over one million monthly passes increased 200% year over year.

Benefiting from these efforts, the Group's online business revenue increased 2.3% year over year to RMB 1.99 billion, and MPU increased 4.5% year over year to 9.2 million yuan.

Reading IP continues to show strong strength in the field of premium film, television, and animated comics. At the same time, it has also achieved significant growth in the rapidly developing new short drama circuit, gradually forming a unique competitive advantage.

In terms of text creation, in the first half of this year, the Group innovatively launched the industry's first AI online text knowledge base function “Wonderful Pen Search” on the basis of the original AI tool to assist writers. This function enables full-text understanding and question-and-answer of 10-million-word literary works, and provides writers with high-value assistance such as writing suggestions, plot deduction, and inspiration during the long-form creative process. Since the launch, the frequency of interaction between authors and AI has increased by 40%, driving a year-on-year increase of more than 40% in “Writer Assistant” daily active users, and the weekly usage rate of AI functions is close to 70%.

The Group's AI translation model has greatly promoted Chinese works globally. In the first half of 2025, the revenue of AI translated works on the Group's overseas reading platform WebNovel increased 38% year-on-year, accounting for more than 35% of the total revenue of novels on the WebNovel platform. As of June 30, 2025, WebNovel provided more than 10,000 Chinese translated works and about 770,000 original local works to overseas users. Of these, 7,200 works were translated by AI, accounting for 70% of the total number of Chinese translated works.
