FedEx is parting ways with Chief Digital and Information Officer Sriram Krishnasamy after months of internal investigations into the department overseen by him. FedEx said in a securities document on Thursday evening local time that Krishnasamy and the company have “jointly agreed” that he will step down from the position immediately. According to the document, Krishnasamy will continue to serve as executive advisor until October or earlier. According to people familiar with the matter, before he suddenly left his job, FedEx launched an investigation to check claims that the performance of one of the departments he supervises was exaggerated. The division, called FedEx Dataworks, uses logistics data generated by the daily flow of millions of packages in its network to help companies improve their supply chains. FedEx's securities documents did not mention the investigation, and the company did not comment on the nature of the investigation. FedEx did say that the target of the investigation was Dataworks, not Krishnasamy himself, and that this did not prompt Krishnasamy to leave his job.
