According to Electrek, Tesla has launched a new software update for its vehicles that includes the much-anticipated Grok integration, but it's not even able to interact with the vehicle right now. Earlier this week, Tesla CEO Musk said Tesla will integrate Grok, a big language model developed by his XAI, into its vehicles. Today, Tesla has begun to push this update to vehicles, with an important limitation. Tesla wrote in the release notes: “Grok — Grok is now directly usable in your Tesla vehicle; requires advanced networking services or WiFi connectivity; Grok is currently in testing and will not send commands to the vehicle — existing voice commands remain the same.” First, it's only available on US vehicles equipped with an AMD infotainment computer, which means only cars manufactured after mid-2021. But more importantly, Tesla said that in the current version, it won't send instructions to the vehicle. So it's like installing Grok on your phone, just installing it on your car's computer.
