The General Administration of Market Regulation, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued a notice clarifying the first batch of product carbon footprint certification pilot certification certification catalogues in the country, including 17 products such as lithium-ion batteries, photovoltaic modules, steel products, textile products, room air conditioners, computers, low-power motors, tires, electrolytic aluminum, cement, wood-based panels, and wooden floors. The publication of the catalogue marks a key step from policy framework to implementation of China's product carbon labeling certification system. By focusing on specific products and supporting product-specific certification implementation rules to be released later, a product carbon footprint certification scheme covering the entire life cycle will be established to provide enterprises and certification bodies with a set of operational, applicable, and verifiable certification implementation guidelines.
