The Straits Times Index, the benchmark index for the Singapore stock market, rose for the second consecutive trading day and closed at a record high. The index rose 0.4% to close at 4,005.25 points. Real estate stocks gave the biggest boost to the index. Among them, Huaye Group rose 7%, Hong Kong Land Holdings rose 3.1%, and urban development rose 2.7%.
