According to the State Railway Administration, on June 30, Beijing's first China-Europe train across the Caspian Sea departed from the Beijing Southwest Golden Port logistics base in Fangshan District. The 104 standard containers carried export products such as auto parts, machinery, equipment, books, etc., weighing more than 2,300 tons and worth more than 15 million yuan, and sailed to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. This train uses the “rail-sea-rail” multimodal transport model and will span more than 8,000 kilometers. After departing from Beijing, the train left via Khorgos port in Xinjiang, crossed Kazakhstan to Aktau Port on the east coast of the Caspian Sea, transferred to a ferry crossing the Caspian Sea, landed at Aliat Port, and then arrived in Baku by rail. Subsequently, some of the goods will also be distributed to countries such as Georgia, Turkey, and Serbia.
